Cameras in Supreme Court Would ‘Miseducate’ Americans

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia came down strongly against cameras in the Supreme Court, saying televised access would “miseducate the American people, not educate them.”

Scalia told C-SPAN in an interview that he opposes cameras in the court because he does not believe the American people will watch and understand the context of Supreme Court hearings.

“I am against it because I do not believe that … the purpose of televised court hearings is to educate the American people. If I really thought it would educate the American people I would be all for it,” he said.
