N.J. Libel Lawsuit Exemplifies Accessibility of Judicial System

Legal issues are not the stuff of stories that make people feel good about their institutions, but Thomas John Salzano’s search for justice is an exception.

Salzano, a 27-year-old art history major from Glen Ridge, lost his case and that is a good thing. If he had won his libel suit against The Record newspaper, the ability of citizens to learn what is happening in the courts could have been severely limited.
